The by-line on the poster and tickets for this show is "It ain't over till these ladies sing" - frankly the show came to an end and I simply didn't want these ladies to stop singing!! Rarely is a show in it's first performance after been written worked so well. With some more fine tuning of the script it will become one of New Zealand's most popular shows to perform.

Firstly, all the lead characters are over 40 & female and the characters are fantastic - whether you are an audience member or a performer. Not a weak link amongst them. It felt very real and was very funny! There was a little bit of angst and tragedy in the story, and I know the big C has a huge impact on our society but I am a little over it. Go an see 'Marvin's Room' if you need that kind of dose of maudlin. Alzheimer should be the theatre angst for this decade. However, Rachael Simons-Gerard portrayal of a woman's future being determined by a life choice to nurse a dying mother was pitched perfectly.

In fact all the characters portrayed were pitched perfectly as was all the singing. The selection of songs was fantastic and a real joy to hear some less familiar tunes being belted out. It was a romping good show!

Well done Jo on writing a great piece of theatre & to all the performers, crew & sponsors for bring this truly funny & thoroughly enjoyable show to the stage. When it comes to your town you'd be a mug to miss it.
