Central Otago - a stable property market

Central Otago | Property | For Sale

"So, is the property market picking up?" - a question I'm often asked. I'm always tempted to ask the person "Why?".

Of course, it is a normal question to ask me since I sell properties in Central Otago. The answer to the question is simple, things are ticking over. Residential properties are 'turning-over' in Central Otago: properties sell, properties get listed on the market, some stay on the market longer than others. All-in-all, we are ticking along nicely.

A Funny Thing

O a very funny thing happened on the way to the gardens! That is Queenstown Gardens (apparently the duck pond was what inspired Monet...). The funny thing being a number of funny things: a wonderful collection of comedy extracts from Peter Seller to Oscar Wilde with a smattering of Aussie & yes, the odd musical number. Remarkable Theatre strikes again - hurrah. If you haven't cottoned on to the free open air theatre held in the Qtn Gardens you must put it in your diary for next year as a MUST.

What is a "Buyers Market"?

Negotiate to Buy & Sell

This is an expression used in the Real Estate sales industry to describe who has the upper hand when negotiating a sale of a property. When salespeople use the expression - it's a buyer's market - they are saying the buyer in the transaction has the advantage in the securing the property they want at their price. Similarly, when the expression 'a sellers market' is used, they are suggesting the seller of a property is in the position of strength.

WoolOn 2010

We had a lovely night on Saturday night at the Alexandra Blossom Festival’s final event, the WoolOn creative fashion awards. Originally we were to sponsor the Young Designers Category but with a disappointing one entry for that category (fortunately she won a prize from CRT for her effort) we ended-up being joint sponsor of the Supreme Award along with the Alexandra Blossom Festival Committee.

New Restaurant Opens in Clyde

I confess when I heard the name of the new restaurant opening in Clyde, I didn't get it. Now I've eaten there I do - it was a bit of an ah-ha moment. Imagine the freshest of foods prepared in the simplest of ways - it's not just organic is orgasmic!

Testimonial

Property sales in Alexandra & Clyde

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the team at Stewart & Associates, Lawyers Limited and especially Alice in the sale of our house in Albert Drive, Clyde. I much appreciated the work and effort Alice has put into achieving the end result, a sale under a difficult market and in a traditionally quiet period of the year.
